The FirePlace

HELP!!!!!!!

Calling all decorators or call your friends who are decorators. Or maybe just call the doctor! My Fireplace needs a makeover...... We have live in our 100 year old house for a little over 11 years and this fireplace has been our stumbling block. George recently painted our living room for the third time since we've lived here. (LOVE my color) But it comes to that big stark white pain in the middle of the room. What to do with it..... Please tell me you have ideas, because we don't. Here is what we would have to work with...... hands, sand paper and basic man tools, paint. I am not an elaborate kind of girl and my theme I am for is a tuscan/very slight country, (I am in the middle of changing my decorating theme over.... but that cost mulah.....

So, Please help me..... I all the ideas you have.

Had the same type of boring brick problem outside on our porch and I sponged the whole porch to make it like varigated brick colors, and then took white to trim out the mortar look in-between.

Hmmmm...I can't help you with the decorating but I do think that a warmer color on the brick would be nice however it looks pretty white too...I know I ma no help:)
Take care and stay warm!

Hi Jen!!! I stumbled upon your blog on Chris Dreher's blog (she is somehow my cousin - our dad's were cousins)! TOO FUNNY and small world! I love the name of your blog, that is just perfect! I will definitely check back in. Our blog is http://wildcallboys.wordpress.com. Noting earth shattering, really just updates on our boys and family for our friends and family across the country. They grow up way too fast and this is a way for us to share them with everyone we don't get to see very often! I cannot believe that Josh graduated last year - my does that make me feel old! Lauren is just adorable! Hope you are well and having a great 2009 - it was wonderful seeing you on Christmas eve at church!

oh and as for your fireplace, it would be pretty painted a chocolate brown!!!
Take care - Hugs,

Hello, I've been researching how to remodel my fireplace and your blog popped up in my Google search! Anyway, check out this website—it has some great before and after pics and they have an ebook that tells you how to redo it yourself.
